When the River Rose is a locally made documentary about the aftermath of the 2022 Lismore floods. It follows local artist and flood survivor Kate Stroud speaking with five community members about the long rebuild and the social impact left behind.
Created by first‑time filmmakers and Lismore locals Catherine Barker and Kate Stroud, When the River Rose has already gained international recognition.
The film was awarded 'Best Woman Filmmaker' at the Barcelona Planet Film Festival 2025 and received an 'Award of Excellence' at the GRU Film Festival in Brazil 2025.It was directed by Catherine Barker / Yellow Fox Productions and runs about 54 minutes
